Residents Call for Security Against Landguards
Residents of New Kordiabe in the Shai-Osudoku District are worried. They are asking the government to improve security in their area. The threat from landguards is growing, and residents feel unsafe.
At a recent press conference, Joseph Akamah spoke on behalf of the New Kordiabe Landlords Association. He told reporters that many residents fear for their safety. Some have even stopped their daily activities because of this fear.
Akamah claims that unknown individuals hire these landguards. He says they disrupt community peace by harassing residents in various ways. He urged local leaders, including MP Linda Akweley Ocloo and the Minister for the Interior, to take action.
“We can confront these armed individuals,” Akamah said. “But we respect the law and do not want to act violently.” He emphasized that landguard activities threaten law-abiding citizens' safety.
Additionally, he noted that several schools have closed due to frequent gunfire in New Kordiabe. Residents hope for urgent intervention before the situation worsens.
