New Patriotic Front coming: Amoako Baah calls NPP incompetent and broken

Political scientist Dr. Richard Amoako Baah has criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He is a longtime member of the party. He calls for a new political force, the New Patriotic Front. He describes the current NPP as “corrupt” and “incompetent.”

In an interview with Alfred Ocansey on TV3, he expressed his views clearly. He believes fixing the party is impossible with current leaders in charge. “Those involved in wrongdoing are in control,” he said. He added that they won’t allow anyone to remove them.

Dr. Amoako Baah suggested leaving the NPP to form a new party instead. “The shortest way around this is to form a new party,” he declared.

He also criticized the presidency for its influence over the party. He stated, “It should be put on his head.” He accused the president of becoming unpopular and arrogant. If he were chairman, he would have removed him from the party.

Dr. Amoako Baah urged disillusioned NPP supporters to join his new party idea. “All NPP supporters should join the New Patriotic Front,” he said. He believes it will be a real alternative to the old party.

He linked Ghana’s economic problems to poor governance and financial mismanagement. “The old party is incompetent and corrupt,” he noted, referencing issues with ECG.

He accused current leaders of economic sabotage through excessive money printing. They print more money to pay government creditors, harming the economy.

“They printed money in large volumes and are now hiding it,” he warned. This action could set back Ghana for years if not addressed soon.

“If we don’t get someone with emergency powers, we are doomed,” he concluded.
