Nigerian businessman, 25 others arrested near Jubilee House for blocking road to an estate

A Nigerian businessman based in Ghana, Ben Peters, was arrested near the Jubilee House on April 7 for allegedly blocking access to an estate housing diplomats, including the Spanish Ambassador.

National Security operatives, led by Jubilee House Deputy Director of Operations Mustapha Gbande, intervened after Peters and over 60 associates—some armed and dressed like private security—barred the road for more than three hours in protest over a key dispute with an estate developer.

Gbande questioned how Peters could operate with such impunity, referencing his alleged ties to COVID infrastructure projects under the Akufo-Addo administration.

A total of 25 individuals, including a foreign national, were arrested.

Police recovered siren-equipped vehicles, motorbikes, and an SUV at the scene.

Peters is now in police custody for further investigation.
