No Chinese man works for me – Chairman Wontumi responds to galamsey allegations

Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, known as Chairman Wontumi, has responded to new allegations. These claims link his company, Akonta Mining Limited, to illegal mining with Chinese nationals.

He reacted to a post by journalist Erastus Asare Donkor. Erastus claimed that Chinese criminals said they worked for Akonta Mining.

Chairman Wontumi strongly denied this connection. He stated, “I am not working; I have stopped working for a very long time.”

He challenged Erastus to take action. “If he has arrested anyone claiming to work for Akonta, he should send them to court,” he said.

Wontumi emphasized that Akonta Mining operates legally. The company has all necessary documentation like other legitimate mining firms.

“Akonta Mining is a legal mining company,” he added. “We are just not working right now.”

He criticized the journalist's approach. He urged Erastus to focus on evidence rather than online popularity.

“No Chinese man is working for me,” Chairman Wontumi declared in an interview with Wontumi FM.
