No more NHIS, statutory payment delays - Dep. Finance Min.

The government will ensure timely transfers to the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS). This aims to improve service delivery and boost public confidence. Deputy Minister of Finance, Thomas Nyarko Ampem, made this announcement.

He spoke at the launch of the 50th anniversary of the School of Medical Sciences. The event took place at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi. Mr. Ampem emphasized the government's focus on timely fund releases.

He stated, “Transfers to the NHIS and other statutory funds will be done promptly.” He added that this is crucial for efficient functioning of institutions like the NHIA.

Mr. Ampem mentioned that they have already transferred GH¢1.4 billion to the NHIS this year. He assured that these payments will be made on time moving forward.
