Nii Kpakpo Samoa Addo, a legal practitioner and NDC member, defended the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB). He spoke about their attempted arrest of Assin South MP Rev. John Ntim Fordjour. This was related to claims in the ongoing AirMed scandal.
On Asaase Radio's The Forum, Samoa Addo addressed the backlash. He urged Ghanaians not to sensationalize what he called a lawful process.
He said, “I don’t know why we are creating a whole noise about this.” He noted that the NIB went to Fordjour's house but there was a compromise.
Samoa Addo mentioned that the Minority Leader intervened in the situation. They agreed that Rev. Fordjour would come in the next day.
He emphasized that the NIB has authority like any law enforcement agency. “Let nobody say that the NIB cannot obtain an arrest warrant,” he stated.
If Rev. Ntim Fordjour feels his privileges were violated, he can address it properly. “He will go through the right process,” Samoa Addo explained. Until then, he sees no reason to fault security agencies for their actions.
