No one in NDC has the balls to tell President Mahama to fire Sammy Gyamfi – Dr Zaato

Dr. Joshua Jebuntie Zaato is a senior lecturer at the University of Ghana. He teaches in the Political Science Department. He recently stated that no one in the NDC has the courage to tell President Mahama to fire Sammy Gyamfi.

Dr. Zaato believes Sammy Gyamfi is too important to the NDC. He thinks this importance prevents anyone from approaching the president about him. When President Mahama took office, he aimed to show accountability, unlike Akufo-Addo. However, Dr. Zaato criticized Mahama for only accepting an apology regarding a serious incident.

Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Presidential Spokesperson, commented on Sammy Gyamfi's situation. He said that Gyamfi has been cautioned but will not face further action after his public apology. The presidency decided to close the matter with a stern warning.

On Channel One TV, Dr. Zaato expressed his views on this issue. He noted that many are not surprised by how it was handled. He emphasized that no one in the NDC has enough power to challenge Sammy Gyamfi’s position.

Dr. Zaato pointed out that government appointees quickly supported Gyamfi after the incident occurred. He questioned how President Mahama can claim to be different if he only accepted an apology for such a serious matter.

Meanwhile, Dr. Tanko Rashid Computer leads GIFEC and commented on this controversy as well. He stated that sanity has returned following Sammy Gyamfi’s dollar gift incident and urged everyone to let it go.

Dr. Tanko described Gyamfi's actions as generous and suggested they stemmed from his background and desire to help others in need. He thanked the presidency for resolving this issue and reiterated that it should now be considered over and done with.
