Legal practitioner and media personality, Samson Lardy Anyenini, has fiercely rejected claims that payments made to MPs on the Appointments Committee are not acts of bribery.
Reacting to former First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Joseph Osei-Owusu’s assertion that the funds given to committee members under the Akufo-Addo administration were merely ‘facilitation,’ Anyenini dismissed the justification as “nonsense,” insisting that such payments amount to corruption.
According to him, any financial inducement before, during, or after the vetting process is a clear case of corruption.
His position aligns with that of legal practitioner Martin Kpebu, who has also criticised attempts to downplay the ethical implications of such payments.
