Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, MP for Assin South, has made a statement. He said he has not received the defamation suit from Mr. Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, the MP for South Dayi.
Mr. Dafeamekpor filed the suit over a social media post. He claims this post damaged his reputation significantly. The legal action relates to a post by Rev. Fordjour on May 8, 2025.
In that post, Rev. Fordjour alleged that Mr. Dafeamekpor acted as Vice Chairman of a committee during a controversial time. This was when Kwabena Adu-Boahene allegedly paid GH¢360,000 to help pass a Legislative Instrument (L.I.).
Kwabena Adu-Boahene defended himself against claims of misappropriating GH¢49.1 million. He stated that allowances were paid to MPs during the passage of related legislation.
On May 16, 2025, Rev. Fordjour issued a press statement about the suit. He noted that it had not come to his attention yet. He expressed eagerness to be served with the suit.
Rev. Fordjour believes he can prove the suit lacks merit. "I await the service of the supposed suit," he stated in his comments.
He added that he would demonstrate its lack of merit once served with it.
