Ntim Fordjour calls for probe into GH¢8.3m political party campaign cash

Rev. John Ntim Fordjour is the Ranking Member of Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee. He has called for an immediate investigation into the National Security Secretariat's alleged misuse of public funds.

His demand follows serious claims from Kwabena Adu-Boahene. Adu-Boahene, the former head of the National Signals Bureau, said millions were diverted to political campaigns and parliamentary committees.

On May 7, Mr. Ntim Fordjour posted on social media about these revelations. He described them as “shocking, scary and a major National Security scandal!!!”

He cited several figures in his post. These include GH¢8.3 million for the NDC during the 2024 election campaign, 960,000 cedis for the Defence & Interior Committee in 2020/21, and 309,000 cedis for the Subsidiary Legislation Committee in 2024.

The MP emphasized that taxpayers deserve full transparency regarding these issues. He stated that a thorough investigation is necessary to address this financial impropriety.

Rev. Ntim Fordjour urged the Inspector-General of Police and Auditor-General to act quickly. He also called on relevant parliamentary bodies to hold those responsible accountable.

He concluded by saying that only a credible investigation can restore confidence in national security institutions.
