Susan Adu-Amankwah, the Executive Secretary of the National Interest Movement, criticized Rev Ntim Fordjour. He is the Ranking Member of Parliament’s Defence Committee. She called his public allegations about suspected cargo flights reckless.
Adu-Amankwah spoke on Joy News’ Newsfile. She accused the MP of not following proper channels. He claimed two planes were carrying suspicious cargo, including cocaine and large sums of money.
“If he didn’t have evidence, what was he talking about?” she asked. She questioned Fordjour's intent behind his remarks.
Her concerns arose from his mention of a “suspicious flight.” This included unverified claims about illicit substances and unexplained cash. “His words make us think there must be more to it,” she said.
Adu-Amankwah warned that such statements could cause public panic or misinformation. She emphasized the importance of the MP’s role in society. “He’s no ordinary citizen of Ghana,” she noted.
As an elected official, he has access to privileged information. Adu-Amankwah argued he should have approached authorities instead of making public insinuations.
“He is an MP and has privileges,” she pointed out. If he had suspicions, he should have contacted national security directly.
She urged public officials to act responsibly regarding sensitive matters with security implications. “That is the well-meaning Ghanaian,” she stressed. “You don’t just go hopping from station to station.”
