Nurse remanded for Defrauding GH¢98K in recruitment scam

Nurse Gordon Bomeh, 34, has been remanded in custody after allegedly defrauding a fellow nurse, Emmanuel Domanang Ngmendaa, of GH¢98,000.

Bomeh promised to secure recruitment slots for 11 people into the Ghana Police, Immigration, and Prison Services. He received payments totaling GH¢98,000 from Ngmendaa, who trusted him to arrange the enlistments.

However, after receiving the money, Bomeh went untraceable, leading to a police report.

Investigations revealed no recruitment took place, and Bomeh admitted to the fraud. His accomplice, Frank Osei, remains unlocated.

Bomeh faces charges of defrauding by false pretense and will reappear in court on January 15, 2025.
