President John Dramani Mahama has promised to upgrade nursing and midwifery colleges. He announced this during his Thank-You tour in the Ahafo Region on May 31.
Mahama is committed to improving tertiary education infrastructure. This focus is especially for underserved regions. He stated that the NDC government will establish a university in Ahafo Region. This university will offer programs in agriculture, natural resources, and health sciences.
He highlighted that upgrading health training institutions is important. It will enhance professional development for nurses and midwives. It will also strengthen the country’s healthcare system.
Mahama mentioned plans to distribute buses to senior high schools (SHSs). These buses will also go to health training institutions. This initiative aims to ease transportation challenges and support academic activities nationwide.
