OKESS student, 16, arrested with locally manufactured firearm

The Tafo Pankrono Divisional Police Command has arrested a 16-year-old student. He is in Form Two at Osei Kyeretwie Senior High School (OKESS).

The arrest happened during a routine dormitory search on May 14, 2025. School authorities found a locally manufactured firearm around 9:30 a.m. The student was taken into custody and handed over to the police.

During questioning, the student said the weapon belonged to his stepfather. His stepfather, Mr. Daniel Owusu Baafi, was arrested on May 15, 2025.

Both individuals have been granted police enquiry bail. They must report to authorities on May 19, 2025, for further investigation.
