Seth Terkper, former Finance Minister and current Presidential Advisor on the Economy, shared his experiences with interrogations.
He faced multiple interrogations during his time as Finance Minister. However, he did not publicize these events. He followed advice from his advisors to keep them private.
"I had to face interrogation on several cases," he said. "I do not speak about them publicly due to my counsel's advice."
Terkper also mentioned that he informed judicial authorities when traveling abroad. "Whenever I traveled while under investigation, I notified them regularly," he stated.
He made these comments regarding ongoing legal issues involving Ken Ofori-Atta, his successor. Ofori-Atta is currently being investigated by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).
The investigation concerns various financial transactions. These include the Strategic Mobilisation-GRA Contract and payments related to the National Cathedral.
Ofori-Atta served as Finance Minister from 2017 to 2024. In February 2025, the OSP labeled him a fugitive for missing questioning.
His legal team later communicated his planned return date. Consequently, the OSP removed him from their wanted list.
However, on June 4, they reinstated him as a fugitive. He failed to return despite assurances from his lawyers about medical treatment in the USA.
