Hearts of Oak women's team, Oaks FC, has secured promotion. They will join the 2025/26 Malta Guinness Women's Premier League. This follows their latest win in the Division One League Regional Championship.
On Wednesday morning, Oaks FC defeated Rootz Sistaz. This victory marked their fourth win in four games. They have now booked a place in the top flight with one game remaining.
Fatima Ibrahim scored first for Oaks FC in the eighth minute. She finished brilliantly to give her team a 1-0 lead. Nine minutes later, Victoria Yeboah tapped into an empty net to make it 2-0.
Oaks FC continued to dominate and extended their lead in the 33rd minute. Amanda Hills scored with a fine finish. They also missed a penalty before halftime.
After the break, Nuratu Iddrisu scored for Rootz Sistaz. However, it was only a consolation goal. Seraphine Essenam then restored Oaks FC's three-goal lead with a penalty.
Rootz Sistaz tried to respond but could not get back into the game. This loss marked their second consecutive defeat in the Championship.
Earlier, Oaks FC had beaten Anlo Ladies, Essiam Socrates, and Sissamba Ladies in their first three matches. They will face Samartex Ladies next in their final game, already assured of promotion.
Next season, they will compete in the Southern Zone of the league.
