The new Metropolitan Chief Executive of Kumasi, Mr. Richard Ofori-Agyemang Boadi, is also known as "King Zuba." He has warned traders about operating on road medians and unauthorized spaces in the city.
In his first public address, King Zuba stated that his administration will not tolerate lawlessness. He is ready to enforce strict measures to restore order.
During a press conference on Monday, he announced that traders must vacate unauthorized areas. Those who ignore this directive will face immediate consequences.
“When we give an order and you fail to comply, we will act,” he said. “If I arrive with my team, compliance will be enforced.”
He described his leadership style as a “democratic military style of discipline.” His goal is to maintain peace and order in Kumasi.
“I won’t accept offenders being arrested and then released,” he added. “That’s a waste of our time and resources.”
“If we approach you respectfully for cooperation, we expect compliance,” he continued. “If you resist, there will be consequences.”
King Zuba emphasized his commitment to preserving Kumasi’s legacy as the “Garden City of Africa.” He believes the city should reflect the pride of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
“This is Otumfuo’s city; it must showcase discipline, order, and beauty,” he stated.
Additionally, King Zuba warned livestock owners about stray animals in the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) zone. He specifically mentioned cattle that roam freely.
He declared that such animals would be killed and used to feed inmates in Ghana's prisons. “Kumasi is not a grazing field,” he said firmly.
“Any stray animals found in the KMA zone will be seized and slaughtered for prisoners,” he promised.
