A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Obiri Boahen, has cautioned against allowing the recently formed election review committee, chaired by Prof. Mike Oquaye, to suffer the same fate as the Osafo-Maafo committee, whose recommendations after the 2020 elections were never implemented.
Speaking in an interview, the former Deputy General Secretary stressed that had the party learned from history, the 2024 elections would have had a different outcome.
He questioned the need for another review if its findings would also be ignored.
The NPP's 2024 Election Review Committee was established in January to assess the party’s performance.
Obiri Boahen urged the leadership to implement its recommendations rather than shelving them, warning that history must not repeat itself.
