Observing World Malaria Day: Commit resources to eliminate malaria -  Prof. Binka

Ghana has a high malaria burden. However, the country can eliminate malaria. This is according to Professor Fred Binka, an expert in clinical epidemiology.

He believes that with proper resources and commitment, Ghana can succeed. The country could join others that have eliminated the disease.

Professor Binka highlighted a major challenge. He noted that financial resources are lacking. This affects the procurement of necessary items and the implementation of the national malaria elimination plan.

Prof. Binka is a former Vice Chancellor at the University of Health and Allied Sciences. He shared these insights during an interview with The Ghanaian Times in Accra on Monday.
