The National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) has been directed by the Office of the President to investigate the official travels of former President Nana Akufo-Addo during his tenure.
The directive, coming amid increased calls for transparency in governance, has sparked mixed reactions.
According to asaaseradio, a source close to Akufo-Addo has described the move as “a new low,” suggesting possible political motives.
However, government officials maintain that the probe is part of broader efforts to ensure accountability in the use of state resources.
It remains unclear whether the investigation will cover all of Akufo-Addo’s official travels or focus on specific periods.
The NIB has yet to comment on the matter.
