Tensions flared in Offinso as youth blocked Nana Kwaku Poku, a former nail cutter of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, from performing traditional rites at the palace during Awukudae.

Determined to halt all customary activities until the chieftaincy dispute is resolved, the youth barred his entry into the sacred spiritual room. Despite police intervention, they resisted, escalating the chaos.

During the standoff, Gyaasehene Nana Kwaku Tabi, who defended Nana Kwaku Poku, was attacked.

Eyewitnesses say he threw the first blow but was stripped of his attire by women and forced to flee.

The youth accuse the Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs of stalling justice and have locked the palace.

They urge the Chieftaincy Minister to act swiftly, warning of possible unrest.
