Offinso North MP, Dr. Fred Kyei Asamoah, has defended the Minority Caucus, dismissing claims that they are obstructing governance.
He asserted that the Minority has been instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of President John Mahama’s administration while upholding accountability.
His remarks follow the suspension of four MPs by Speaker Alban Bagbin over disruptions during ministerial vetting.
Speaking to Channel One News, Dr. Asamoah emphasized that the Minority’s scrutiny of nominees is intended to help the government appoint competent leaders.
He stressed that their role is to protect Ghanaians from unfair treatment and ensure good governance. He reaffirmed the Minority’s commitment to parliamentary engagement, accountability, and national progress.
