Dr. Fred Kyei Asamoah, the MP for Offinso North, has fulfilled a promise. He commissioned a new FIFA-standard Astro Turf in Akumadan. This facility hosted the 2025 Anidaso Easter gala.
The four-day football tournament ran from Good Friday to Easter Monday. It featured fourteen male and five female teams from five zones: Akumadan, Afrancho, Nkenkensu, Daaso-Nkwaakwaa, and Nsenu.
This year’s event was better than previous ones. It moved from Lions Park to the new Akumadan Lions Astro Turf. The facility has floodlights and VAR technology, allowing night matches.
At the gala's opening, Dr. Asamoah spoke to a large crowd. He said the initiative aims to promote development and youth empowerment through sports.
He highlighted the constituency's potential for producing football talent. He is optimistic that the new facility will help nurture athletes for local and international competitions.
“In five years, we must produce quality footballers,” he stated. “Our Astro Turf could also host international competitions.”
Akumadan Faith Young Boys won in the male category. Akumadan Ladies took first place in the female category. Winning teams received cash prizes, trophies, and medals.
Other outstanding teams and players were also recognized for their performances. The 2025 Anidaso Easter Gala received praise for its organization and competitive spirit. It helped unite communities across Offinso North Constituency.
