Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah Wins Court Case Against Police Protest Ban
An Accra High Court has dismissed a motion from the Ghana Police Service. The motion aimed to stop a protest against illegal mining. This protest is led by broadcaster Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah.
The court's decision came after Assistant State Attorney David Bachem requested the motion be withdrawn. This ruling allows the anti-galamsey protest to proceed as planned on April 28.
Okatakyie Afrifa believes the initial attempt to ban the protest was unfair. The demonstration will start at Obra Spot near Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra. It will move along Ring Road and end at Liberation Square, opposite Jubilee House.
The protest is set to begin at 4 PM on April 28 and continue until midnight on April 29.
In other news, Afrifa-Mensah has returned to broadcasting after leaving Angel FM. He resigned due to a reported clash with management. He is now hosting his own podcast called "For The Records."
