Abeiku Santana, Deputy Chief Executive of the Ghana Tourism Authority, has responded to claims about his radio work. He called these claims misleading.
In a social media post, he stated that Mr. Mark Okraku Mantey’s allegations are false. Okraku Mantey had questioned why Santana continues to work in radio after his appointment.
During an interview on Joy FM, Okraku Mantey asked why Santana is still on air. He referred to Okay FM by its former name, UKFM.
Okraku Mantey expressed concern about Santana using office hours for radio work. He emphasized that public officials should not engage in other jobs during those hours.
Santana clarified that he has not reviewed specific public commission laws. However, he noted that the Constitution and Minister's directives are clear on this issue.
He mentioned that public officials should not use office hours for other jobs. Instead, they could host a weekly show related to tourism or culture pro bono.
