On what basis did gov’t respond to Ntim Fordjour if it’s now asking for evidence ? - Haruna Mohammed asks

The Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Haruna Mohammed, has raised concerns. He questions the government's response to Reverend John Ntim Fordjour's drug trafficking allegations.

In an interview on Joy FM's Top Story, Mr. Mohammed expressed worry about threats against Reverend Fordjour. The Reverend recently claimed two aircraft involved in drug activities passed through Ghana.

He has been asked to provide evidence. Twum Barimah, the Deputy Director-General of NACOC, urged him to cooperate with their investigation.

Mr. Mohammed noted that if the government demands evidence now, it raises questions. He wonders why they responded quickly to the allegations without proof.

"We are concerned that if anyone should be arrested, it should be Honorable Felix Kwakye Ofosu," he stated. "He spreads falsehoods without accurate information."

"What evidence is the government looking for now?" he asked. This suggests the government lacked proof when responding to Reverend Fordjour’s claims.

Mr. Mohammed also questioned whether the aircraft actually came to Ghana. He insisted there should be no doubt about their presence.

His comments follow a dismissal from the Minister of State for Government Communications regarding Mr. Fordjour's claims about drug trafficking and money laundering.

Felix Kwakye Ofosu called these allegations baseless on social media. He accused Mr. Fordjour of spreading disinformation to undermine public confidence in the government.

According to him, facts contradict Mr. Fordjour’s claims entirely. The two aircraft arrived in Ghana for legitimate reasons and underwent thorough inspections with no illegal substances found onboard.
