Walewale Member of Parliament, Dr. Tiah Abdul-Kabiru Mahama, has criticized President John Dramani Mahama. He accuses the President of protecting the powerful while punishing the vulnerable.
His comments follow the “Dollar Cash Saga.” This incident involves Sammy Gyamfi, Acting CEO of Goldbod, and televangelist Nana Agradaa.
Dr. Mahama spoke to the press about the situation. He called it a clear example of selective justice.
“The President’s actions show selective application of the law,” he said. “The Code of Conduct only applies to the vulnerable.”
He expressed concern that this code is ineffective. It fails to hold powerful individuals accountable while targeting the weak.
The President faced backlash for only cautioning Sammy Gyamfi. Gyamfi was seen on video giving U.S. dollar bundles to Nana Agradaa.
This footage sparked public outrage and demands for accountability from officials.
Dr. Mahama believes this issue goes beyond poor judgment. He claims the President has exceeded his legal authority.
“This situation is a gross abuse of statute,” he stated. “The law we discussed in our press conference is clear.”
He emphasized that it is not within the President's power to forgive such breaches. The law requires him to follow prescribed penalties in these cases.
