Dr. Sharif Mahmud Khalid, a member of the NDC’s Economic and Finance Committee, has called for a full audit of the Nation Builders Corps (NABCo) to address concerns over its financial operations.
Speaking on Ghana Decides, Dr. Khalid highlighted allegations of ghost names on NABCo's payroll, which he said could point to fund mismanagement. He argued that resolving the arrears owed to beneficiaries without a thorough review would be inadequate.
“The entire institution needs an audit to ensure public funds were properly utilized,” Dr. Khalid stated.
Established in 2018 to address graduate unemployment, NABCo has faced criticism over unpaid stipends and alleged inefficiencies.
Dr. Khalid stressed the urgency of uncovering the truth behind the program’s financial integrity to restore public trust.
