A leaked Ministry of Works and Housing document has exposed a $4.9 million contract awarded to Joberg Ghana Limited by the Akufo-Addo administration shortly after losing the 2024 elections, Herald reports.
The contract, signed on December 19, 2024—12 days after the elections—committed to constructing 18 apartments in Accra's Cantonments within 18 months.
The outgoing government and then-Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah were reportedly aware of their impending exit when the deal was finalized.
The letter, signed by Rev. Stephen Yaw Osei, Chief Director at the ministry, confirmed the award.
The timing and urgency of the contract have sparked concerns, raising questions about transparency and fiscal responsibility during the transitional period.
