President-elect John Dramani Mahama has emphasized his grounded approach to leadership, stating that power will not influence his perspective.
Reflecting on past experiences, including his 2016 electoral defeat and advice from former President John Agyekum Kufuor, Mahama acknowledged that power is fleeting.
Speaking to congregants at the Ring Road Assemblies of God Church on December 15, he highlighted the highs and lows of leadership, recounting a visit to Kufuor’s once-bustling residence, now quiet post-presidency.
Mahama shared Kufuor’s counsel to recognize that the attention and adulation leaders receive often stem from their position, not personal connection.
“These don’t get to my head. The praises are temporary,” he remarked, reaffirming his humility and focus on serving the nation.
