Orca Deco Ghana has announced a 15% price reduction on all products. This change will take effect on Monday, May 12, 2025. The decision responds to the recent recovery of the Ghanaian Cedi against the US dollar.
Jihan Kudsy, Sales & Marketing Manager at Orca Deco Ghana, explained this move. He stated, “We believe in fairness and supporting our customers.” He emphasized that this reduction comes after years of economic challenges.
Since January 2022, prices have significantly impacted consumers' purchasing power. In December 2021, ₵6.50 equaled $1. By September 2022, it rose to ₵12.70 per dollar. In 2023, it stabilized near ₵12.00 but sharply declined to ₵16.40 by September 2024.
Kudsy noted a positive shift since April 20, 2025. By May 9, the Cedi reached ₵13.30 against the dollar. Bloomberg reported that the Cedi became the "best-performing currency in the world," appreciating by 16%.
For over three years, rising costs strained households and businesses in Ghana. With the Cedi's rebound, Orca Deco feels it is their duty to pass these benefits to customers.
Kudsy mentioned that this decision aligns with national economic goals set by Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson. The company aims to ease financial pressure on consumers and protect their purchasing power.
Looking ahead, Kudsy expressed optimism about long-term stability for the Cedi. He hopes for rates near ₵12.00 per dollar as seen in 2023.
He assured customers of fair pricing despite market fluctuations and highlighted that a strong Cedi benefits everyone involved.
Orca Deco thanks its loyal customers for their trust during tough times. They are excited to offer more affordable prices starting May 12 without compromising quality.
Customers are invited to shop with Orca Deco and experience their commitment to value.
