Oro Oil Ghana grabs two awards at Ghana Timber and Sustainable Forestry Awards, 2025

Oro Oil Ghana Limited has won two awards at the Ghana Timber and Sustainable Forestry Awards, 2025.

The company received the Best Sustainable Palm Oil Producer of the Year award. Its CEO, Maxwell Commey, also won the Sustainable Leadership in Agro-Industrial Development Award.

These awards highlight Commey's leadership and Oro Oil's growth in Ghana's agricultural sector. The company is one of the largest palm oil exporters in Ghana.

Oro Oil has partnered with Nigerian investors for a 10-year deal. They plan to cultivate over 10,000 hectares of land. This partnership aims to create affordable goods and a large workforce through the African Continental Free Trade Area (AFCTA).

The Ghana Timber and Sustainable Forestry Awards recognize outstanding individuals and companies. The event took place at the Marriott Hotel in Accra.

It honors CEOs and top managers who excel in timber and sustainable forestry. Under Maxwell Commey’s leadership, Oro Oil has transformed palm oil production with a customer-focused approach.

Commey thanked his over 300 staff, clients, and partners for their dedication. He expressed excitement about their double win for Oro Oil Ghana Limited.

He emphasized their commitment to providing excellent customer experiences in palm oil production.

The event was attended by notable figures, including Deputy Minister of Agriculture John Dumelo and traditional rulers.

Maxwell Commey is the CEO of Oro Oil Ghana Limited. The company specializes in cultivating and processing oil palm in Eastern Region, Ghana.

Oro Oil aims to be West Africa's leading sustainable palm oil producer. They focus on operational excellence and international best practices.

Their goal is to create wealth for shareholders while ensuring employee welfare and community satisfaction.

Under Commey’s vision, Oro Oil has received numerous awards for good corporate governance. He has over 25 years of experience in industrialization across Europe and Africa.

Commey serves on the board of the Tree Crop Development Authority of Ghana. He is also an executive member of the Oil Palm Development Association of Ghana (OPDAG).

He believes in giving back to the community and has created over 300 jobs across Ghana.
