Otumfuo to resume Bawku mediation talks at Manhyia Palace

His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, will resume mediation in the Bawku conflict. This was announced in a press release from the Manhyia Palace on April 15, 2025.

The mediation is set for April 28 to May 1, 2025. It will take place at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi. Both parties involved in the crisis have agreed to this process.

The Asantehene has called for full cooperation from all stakeholders. He aims to find a lasting and peaceful resolution to the Bawku conflict.

The statement emphasized his commitment: “His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II will mediate as agreed with both parties.” The Asantehene requests everyone’s cooperation for peace in Bawku.

Otumfuo's involvement is part of broader efforts to stabilize Bawku. The area has experienced violence due to longstanding chieftaincy and ethnic tensions.
