Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, former Vice President, is the NPP's 2024 flagbearer. He urged his party to embrace all Ghanaians for a political resurgence.
On Thursday, May 8, he spoke in the Volta Region during the NPP’s Thank You Tour. Dr. Bawumia emphasized unity and inclusivity as key to the party’s revival.
At Hohoe, he reflected on lessons from the December 2024 election defeat. He noted that rebuilding trust requires a broad approach.
“Our comeback needs open arms for everyone,” he declared. He stressed reaching out to all Ghanaians, regardless of region or background.
Dr. Bawumia proposed forming regional liaison committees. These committees would engage local stakeholders and relay their concerns to party leaders.
“These committees will ensure every voice is heard,” he explained. They will help shape policies that reflect community aspirations.
He also highlighted grassroots mobilization efforts. He urged party members to increase door-to-door outreach and listen to constituents' needs.
In closing, he thanked supporters in the Volta Region for their resilience. He encouraged them to be ambassadors of this new inclusive vision.
“With unity and humility, we can turn our setback into a powerful comeback,” he affirmed as delegates gave him a standing ovation.
