Over 1,350 ECG containers missing from Tema Harbour amid procurement breaches – Energy Minister

The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, has serious concerns. More than 1,350 Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) containers have disappeared from Tema Harbour.

A committee was set up to investigate this issue. They found alarming procurement breaches over several years.

On Tuesday, March 25, Mr. Jinapor shared a 103-page report on Facebook. He stated that the findings are very disturbing. Over 1,350 containers are missing from the Tema port.

The report also highlights serious procurement violations in recent years. The Minister assured the public that law enforcement will take action.

He emphasized that those responsible will be held accountable. This situation raises significant concerns about transparency in the energy sector.
