MTN Ghana, the leading telecom company in Ghana, held its annual business programme on Wednesday. The event took place at the Movenpick Hotel in Accra.
This year's edition focused on practical approaches to Artificial Intelligence (AI). It aimed to develop and implement AI solutions for specific business needs.
MTN seeks to leverage AI's potential responsibly and effectively. The event was called CTIO Roundtable Africa. It gathered hundreds of ICT experts and business leaders from the digital community.
The theme was “Driving Business Value Through Data and AI." Notable speakers included Abel Lomotey Daitey from GCB Bank and Abdoulaye Diack from Google. Other speakers were Darlinton Akogo of MinoHealth AI Labs, Dr. Stephane Nwolley of Npontu Technologies, Nefertiti Puplampu of The Institute of Advanced Learning, and Jacqueline Hanso-Kotei from MTN Ghana.
These leaders shared valuable insights about the future of AI. Angela Mensah-Poku, Chief Enterprise Business Officer at MTN Ghana, opened the event. She emphasized the need for meaningful applications beyond discussions.
She noted that last year’s forum focused on AI use cases. This year’s edition concentrated on real-world implementation and deliberate action. Bernard Acquah, Chief Information Officer of MTN Ghana, discussed AI's critical role in global economic development.
