Paa Kwesi Schandorf appointed GoldBod Communications Assistant, Media Relations Officer at Lands Ministry

Former JoyNews anchor Paa Kwesi Schandorf has joined Ghana’s new gold dealership agency, Ghana Gold Board (Goldbod).

Schandorf will support communications at Goldbod. This agency is the only state body allowed to buy, sell, assay, value, and export gold and other precious minerals in Ghana.

He will also serve as the media relations officer for the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources.

In a Facebook post on May 26, Schandorf thanked Goldbod CEO Mr. Sammy Gyamfi. He described this opportunity as an honor to contribute to national development.

“These dual roles reflect my passion for writing and journalism,” he wrote. “I’m humbled by the chance to help President Mahama’s vision for our country.”

Schandorf expressed gratitude to God and his boss for believing in him. He looks forward to serving his beloved country.

In his new role, Schandorf will assist the Ministry with media engagement. He aims to strengthen its strategic communication efforts.

Schandorf began his media career at TV Africa. There, he hosted the flagship morning show and anchored prime time news.

His passion for writing led him to create TV Africa’s online news platform. His talent caught attention, leading him to The Multimedia Group.

At The Multimedia Group, he presented on Joy FM and JoyNews. He also hosted the Joy Campus show about life in tertiary institutions across Ghana.

After leaving The Multimedia Group, Schandorf briefly worked at Wesleyan Television. He served as News Editor and hosted ‘The State,’ a current affairs program.

Before this appointment, he was acting Head of News at TV Africa.

Schandorf is an alumnus of Labone Senior High School where he was School Prefect. He later studied at the University of Ghana, Legon, holding various student leadership roles including Public Relations Officer of the SRC.
