An Accra Circuit Court has sentenced Kelvin Boateng, a painter, to three years in prison with hard labour for unlawfully entering an office and stealing an HP laptop belonging to a graphic designer.
The court, presided over by Mrs. Christiana Eyiah-Donkor Cann, ruled that Boateng serve his sentences for unlawful entry and theft concurrently.
According to Police Inspector Wisdom Alorwu, the incident occurred on December 31, 2024, in La, Accra. Boateng scaled a fence into the complainant’s office, took the laptop, and fled.
A witness spotted him carrying the stolen item and raised an alarm. The laptop was later found hidden in an uncompleted building.
Boateng admitted to the crime during investigations and was subsequently prosecuted.
