Parliament approves ¢3.2bn for Ministry of Roads and Highways

On Tuesday, March 25, Parliament approved a GH¢3.2 billion budget for the Ministry of Roads and Highways for 2025.

This funding aims to support major infrastructure projects and improve the road network.

The Ghana Highway Authority plans to hire 137 new staff members. This recruitment addresses a shortfall from new regions and offices.

This initiative is part of the Ministry’s efforts to decentralize operations.

The Ministry has ambitious plans to dualize and enhance safety on key trunk roads nationwide.

Construction continues on four by-passes along the Accra-Kumasi Highway. These are located at Osino, Anyinam, Enyiresi, and Konongo. This work will further improve transportation infrastructure in the country.
