Parliament approves Armah-Kofi Buah, three regional ministers-designate

Parliament has approved Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah as Minister-designate for Lands and Natural Resources, alongside three regional ministers-designate, despite strong opposition from the Minority.

The approvals, granted on January 29, 2025, followed extensive vetting.

The confirmed regional ministers are:

- Tia Ibrahim – North East Region

- Dr. Frank Amoakohene – Ashanti Region

- Akamugri Atanga Donatus – Upper East Region

While the nominees are set to assume office, the Minority opposed Armah-Kofi Buah’s appointment, citing his refusal to retract remarks on former President Akufo-Addo’s final State of the Nation Address.

During vetting, he defended his comments as contextual but declined to apologize.
