Parliament approves Mahama’s first batch of ministers

Parliament has unanimously approved the nomination of three ministers following their successful vetting by the Appointments Committee.

This marks the first set of ministerial appointments by President John Mahama.

Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, MP for Ajumako-Enyan-Esiam, has been confirmed as Minister of Finance. John Jinapor, MP for Yapei-Kusawgu, takes the helm as Minister of Energy, while Dr. Dominic Ayine, MP for Bolgatanga East, assumes the role of Attorney-General and Minister for Justice.

The approvals were finalized during a session presided over by Second Deputy Speaker Andrew Asiamah Amoako, with both Majority and Minority MPs praising the nominees' competence and suitability.

This move reinforces bipartisan support for strong leadership in tackling the nation’s economic and governance challenges.
