Parliament approved GH¢838,369,865 on Thursday. This funding is for the Ghana Audit Service in the 2025 financial year.
The money will help the service audit public institutions. It aims to ensure accountability and improve financial oversight across government agencies.
A significant part of this funding will support audits of Ghana’s missions abroad. This area has faced challenges due to a lack of funds.
The service also plans to audit five peacekeeping operations of the Ghana Armed Forces. These operations have not been assessed since 2019.
