Parliament begins 9th Members’ registration on December 25

Ghana’s Parliament will commence the registration of members-elect for the 9th Parliament on December 25, 2024, starting online.

Physical registration runs from January 2 to January 6, 2025.

Key events include the election of the Speaker on January 6 at 11 PM, followed by the midnight swearing-in of the Speaker-elect and Members-elect.

On January 7, the President-elect and Vice President-elect will be sworn in at Independence Square, Accra, at 10 AM. Members are to be seated by 9 AM, with buses leaving Parliament at 8 AM.
