Parliament has approved the appointments of Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa as Minister for Foreign Affairs and Kwabena Mintah Akandoh as Minister of Health, alongside ten other ministerial nominees.

The confirmed appointees include Seidu Issifu as Minister of State for Climate Change and Sustainability, Charity Gardiner as Minister of the Ahafo Region, Awuribe Issifu as Minister of the Savannah Region, Wilbert Petty Brentum as Minister-designate for the Western North Region, Joseph Nelson as Minister of the Western Region, Joseph Addae Akwaboa as Minister of the Bono Region, Francis Owusu Antwi as Minister of the Bono East Region, Puozuing Charles Lwanga as Minister of the Upper East Region, Felix Kwakye Ofosu as Minister of State for Government Communication, and Eduamoah Ekow Panyin Okyere as Minister of the Central Region.

While the House approved Akandoh and the other nominees by consensus, Ablakwa’s confirmation was met with opposition from the Minority caucus, who abstained from voting.

Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin clarified that their decision stemmed from concerns over Ablakwa’s leadership of the "Operation Recover All Loot" (ORAL) committee.

In a symbolic act of dissent, Second Deputy Whip Habib Iddrisu poured water over his hands, signifying the Minority's disassociation from Ablakwa’s approval.

Despite their objections, the Majority proceeded with his confirmation, finalizing his appointment as Foreign Affairs Minister.
