Parliament has approved the Ghana Boundary Commission Bill, 2024, repealing the 2010 Act 795.
The new legislation, passed under a Certificate of Urgency, aims to modernize boundary management by addressing gaps in the previous law and aligning Ghana’s practices with international standards.
The bill empowers the Ghana Boundary Commission to better manage the country's land, maritime, and airspace boundaries, enhancing national security and regional cooperation.
It also aims to improve funding and inter-agency collaboration.
