Lawyer and social commentator Oliver Barker-Vormawor has alleged that the Appointments Committee of Parliament demands money from ministerial nominees in exchange for approval.

In a Facebook post written in pidgin, he sarcastically questioned whether these alleged payments align with anti-corruption efforts, referring to the situation as “Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL).”

He stated, “So all the monies the ministerial appointees are being asked to pay to the Appointments Committee just to get approved, are those ones not affected by ORAL? Strange Republic.”

While Barker-Vormawor did not provide evidence, his remarks have sparked public debate over the integrity of the vetting process.

Efforts to reach the Appointments Committee for a response have so far been unsuccessful.
