Parliament to be dissolved on January 6, 2025

The 8th Parliament of the 4th Republic will dissolve on Monday, January 6, 2025, with the 9th Parliament set to reconvene at 11:00 PM for the election of a new Speaker and two Deputy Speakers.

A statement from the Parliamentary Service confirmed that the Speaker-elect and newly elected members will take their oaths of office at midnight.

Before the dissolution, President Akufo-Addo will deliver the State of the Nation Address on Friday, January 3, 2025.
