A fire broke out in the Job 600 building of Parliament, starting from a storeroom, according to the Greater Accra Regional Fire Service Commander, ACFO 1 Roberta Agrey Ghanson.
The cause of the fire is still unknown, but it has been brought under control. An investigation will be launched to determine what triggered the blaze.
Due to the incident, the entire premises are being evacuated, and a scheduled meeting between the Assurance Committee and the Works and Housing Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has been put on hold.
