The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has issued a 24-hour weather forecast. Tonight, skies will be partly cloudy across all regions. There is a chance of isolated thunderstorms, especially in the middle, transition, and northern zones.
These thunderstorms may occur with or without rain. Residents in these areas should take precautions. Nighttime weather conditions may become unstable in some parts.
This morning, May 7, 2025, mist and fog patches are expected. These will develop over coastal, forested, and hilly areas. Cities like Koforidua, Goaso, Sunyani, and Kumasi have a 40% chance of morning mist.
Motorists and early commuters should exercise caution due to reduced visibility. In the afternoon, conditions will be generally sunny across the country. However, northern areas like Bolgatanga, Wa, and Nalerigu may still experience thunderstorms with a 40% probability.
In Accra, temperatures will range from 25°C in the morning to 33°C in the afternoon. Sunny periods are expected after a partly cloudy night. Other major cities like Kumasi and Tamale will also see warm afternoons with highs of 34°C and 36°C respectively.
GMet warns that sea conditions remain rough. Fishermen and coastal communities should stay informed before heading out. The public is encouraged to check local media and GMet for updates on sudden weather changes.
