Dozens of passengers traveling to Kwahu, Kumasi, and other areas for Easter are stranded at the Neoplan Station in Accra. A severe shortage of vehicles has caused this situation.
On Friday, April 18, Channel One News reported long queues of frustrated commuters. Many had waited for hours without success. Passengers expressed concerns about the lack of transport arrangements during this busy season.
One stranded passenger, Alex, was heading to Techiman. He said, “I have been here since 7:30 am. There is no car available. The station masters say cars are on the way, but we haven’t seen any.” He described the situation as troubling and stressful.
Another commuter, Queen Mira, shared her frustration as well. “I have been here since 7 am,” she said. “We are told a bus is coming, but nothing shows it’s on the way.” She called it a big problem.
Drivers at the station also voiced their grievances about the situation. They appealed to the government for more buses during festive periods to help manage demand. Kennedy Owusu Adei noted that while everything else is fine, there aren’t enough cars for passengers.
Prince Ashitey highlighted another issue: poor road conditions worsen travel experiences. “Many people are heading to Kwahu,” he said. “There aren’t enough cars to take them all.” He added that bad roads make driving tiring and urged government assistance.
